Maxime Gilbert is a Québécois author and filmmaker.

Passionate about cinema since childhood, he has always been fascinated not only by the stories told on screen but also by the filmmaking process itself.

After directing several award-winning short films, he made his feature film debut at the age of 29, shooting the entire film in just ten days on a budget of $7,500. Over the years, his films have been screened at numerous festivals around the world, earning him several awards and distinctions.

Alongside his filmmaking career, becoming a father sparked a new passion: children's literature. One evening, while reading a bedtime story to his eldest son, an idea came to him: why not write his own stories so that one day he could share them with his two boys?

That moment marked the beginning of his journey as a children's author. Working with talented illustrators who bring his stories to life, he has published three books, with several more projects in the works.

Whether through film or children's literature, Maxime Gilbert continues to pursue the same passion: creating, imagining, and telling stories that entertain and move audiences.
